Crystal Clear Artwork & Topcoat Epoxy Resin

Crystal Clear Artwork & Topcoat epoxy resin, an epoxy laminating resin with heat resistance up to 140 ° C, high viscosity and maximum UV protection as well as excellent self-ventilation for a bubble-free finish.

A fast-curing, crystal clear resin with a unique clarity and transparency.

After hardening, you will get a very hard end result with the final hardness of Shore D90.

The flowability such as pouring syrup makes this epoxy resin ideal for laminating sloping surfaces.

Application areas:

This epoxy resin is used, among other things, for the finishing of surfaces with high heat resistance such as kitchen countertops and coasters - easy application due to the viscosity -, production of decorative potting and sealing of epoxy resin works of art.

Can also be used for casting small pieces of jewelry and LED and moisture-proof electronics, as well as a laminating material in combination with carbon fabric for paddles, sports equipment, poles, etc.

You can use this epoxy resin from 0.05 to a maximum of 1.0 cm thick.

You can apply the resin with a brush or roller.

If you want to cast thicker, choose another epoxy resin such as

Crystal Clear Casting Resin

Or:

Crystal Clear Deep Pour Resin

  • Minimum layer thickness: 0.05 cm
  • Maximum layer thickness: 1.0 cm
  • One-time processing quantity max .: 10 kg ***

With a larger amount, the processing time and the hardening time are shorter! In order to achieve this high temperature resistance, the epoxy resin must be baked at 60 ° C for 1.5 hours. Otherwise the temperature resistance is approx. 90 ° C **.

If you have little experience, we recommend that you do not use the maximum amount at once. If you still want to do this, work at 18 ° C with a mixing bucket with a large diameter and allow for a very short processing time! For 10 kg, please pour a layer not exceeding 0.5 cm thick. ***

Please note that we are talking about temperature resistance here. This means that the epoxy will not scorch or crack at this temperature. However, the epoxy may temporarily soften and nick due to the weight! This makes all types of epoxy less suitable for use as coasters.

Processing:

Make sure the surface is dense and non-porous. This can cause air bubbles in the epoxy. Use a thin layer of epoxy or primer to do this. Always use protective gloves and goggles when handling this material. Process the resin at room temperature (18 - 25 ° C) and a humidity of less than 70%. In order to avoid any deformation of the surface, the temperature must remain constant during the entire curing process. Also, avoid direct sunlight through a window and avoid drafts.

Mix the A and B components in the correct ratio (A: B = 100: 50 by weight) and mix well. Allow enough time to mix (2-3 minutes), making sure to include the corners and bottom of the mixing bowl. Optionally, you can pour the whole thing into a second bowl and mix again.

Now add all the color effects and stir again. Let the air bubbles escape for a minute. If necessary, help by vibrating / rattling the mug. Make sure that the product does not get too hot!

The epoxy is now ready to use. Apply the mixture with a brush / roller or pour the mixture with a thin stream into the desired shape or the prepared model.

Make sure that you use a mixing bowl with a large base for larger quantities. Avoid a thick layer in the mixing bowl as it heats up very quickly!

Removing air bubbles works best with an epoxy vent or a flame. Please do not use flames if you have diluted the epoxy resin with alcohol or other flammable products.

If you want to apply the resin in several layers (multi-layer work)

Wet on wet:

Whenever you pour a second layer of a liquid into a first layer of an epoxy liquid, you need to make sure that the exothermic reaction has completely worn off. An exothermic reaction is a reaction that releases energy. In this case, heat, if you want to be sure, wait until the second layer is no longer tacky, but you will still see a fingerprint in the epoxy.

Wet on dry :

The previous layer must be sanded and made free of dust and grease.
