Crystal Clear Deep Casting epoxy resin
The Crystal Clear Deep Casting is a highly transparent epoxy resin for a wide range of applications with excellent UV resistance and self-ventilation for a bubble-free finish.
The epoxy resin is ideal for artistic and decorative applications, potting of large molded and cast parts as well as larger jewelry items or river tables up to 5 cm.
The epoxy resin is low-viscosity, has maximum UV protection and excellent self-ventilation for a bubble-free finish.
The deep casting epoxy resin can be colored with different epoxy color pigments to achieve a spectacular result.
This resin is not suitable for small / thin castings smaller than 1 cm as it takes too long to harden.
For thinner castings use:
Crystal Clear Casting Resin - 0.1 to 2 cm casting height
For larger cast parts use:
Crystal Clear Deep Pour Resin - up to 10 cm casting height
For an epoxy resin with higher viscosity use:
Crystal Clear Artwork & Topcoat Resin
Accessories for 7.5Kg and 15Kg containers:
Pourer pouring aid DIN51 with bellows closure
Application areas:
- Production of river tables, large molded and cast parts as well as larger jewelry items with a potting height of 10 mm to 50 mm. (higher casting quantity possible depending on the room temperature and the quantity of material <22 ° C).
- Manufacture of molds where excellent transparency is expected / necessary.
Specifications:
- Mixing ratio by weight: A: B = 100: 50
- Color: Ultra clear (diamond clear) in both components
- Processing time 100 g at 25 ° C: 40 minutes *
- Curing time at 25 ° C: 18-24 hours *
- Completely hardened after: 3 days
- UV blocker: yes
- Hardness: Shore D 75
- Density: 1.09 g / cm³
- Viscosity: 300-600 cPs
- Low viscosity
- Solvent free
- Self-leveling
- Excellent self-venting for a bubble-free finish
- Temperature resistant up to: 80 ° C
- Minimum layer thickness: 1 cm
- Maximum layer thickness 5 cm
- The maximum grouting height of 5 cm is heavily dependent on the ambient temperature. If the temperature exceeds 22 ° C, the maximum grouting height is reduced
Important note: The higher the room temperature (> 20 ° C) and the larger the mixed amount, the lower the possible casting height with constant transparency.
* With a larger amount, the processing time and the hardening time are shorter!
Processing:
Make sure the surface is dense and non-porous. This can cause air bubbles in the epoxy. Use a thin layer of epoxy or primer to do this.
Always use protective gloves and goggles when handling this material. Process the resin at room temperature (18-25 ° C) and a humidity of less than 70%. In order to avoid any deformation of the surface, the temperature must remain constant during the entire curing process. Also, avoid direct sunlight through a window and avoid drafts.
Mix the A and B components in the correct ratio (A: B = 100: 50 by weight) and mix well. Allow enough time to mix (2-3 minutes), making sure to include the corners and bottom of the mixing bowl. Optionally, you can pour the whole thing into a second bowl and mix again. Now add all the color effects and stir again. Let the air bubbles escape for a minute. If necessary, help by vibrating / rattling the mug. Make sure the product doesn't get too hot!
The epoxy is now ready to use. Pour the mixture into your mold or prepared model with a thin stream.
Note that you use a large-bottomed mixing bowl for larger quantities. Avoid a thick layer in the mixing bowl as it heats up very quickly!
Removing air bubbles works best with an epoxy vent or a flame. Please do not use flames if you have diluted the epoxy resin with alcohol or other flammable products.
If you want to apply the resin in several layers (multi-layer work):
Wet on wet:
Whenever you pour a second layer of a liquid into a first layer of an epoxy liquid, you need to make sure that the exothermic reaction has worn off completely. An exothermic reaction is a reaction that releases energy. In this case, heat.
If you want to be sure of this, wait until the second layer is no longer tacky, but you will still see a fingerprint in the epoxy.Wet on dry:
The previous layer must be sanded and made free of dust and grease.
